Hey! I’m Carol

I’m an ordinary woman who adores yellow boots and an extraordinary God – and knowing Him changes everything.

I’ve lived a good, hard, messy, and joy-filled life. Now that I’m firmly in my latter half (if you know what I mean), there’s nothing I want more than to share HOPE and INSPIRATION with women who long to grow in their faith.

I started Bible college in my 20’s with a desire to get a photojournalism degree with a deep side of theology. I ran my own photography business from our home for 20 years while raising three kids. I love to study the Word and I’ve taught many times through the years – often creating my own study guides.

It’s my joy to use Scripture as the foundational tool, combined with other dynamic resources, to guide people through their struggles into the open arms of Jesus. You should know that I love Jesus and I love my family! But you know who else I love? YOU!

💛 I love exhausted moms who haven’t showered.

💛 I love women who are tangled in doubt and shame.

💛 I love single women and empty nesters.

And I would love nothing more than to pull up two cozy chairs, hand you a cuppa something warm and comforting, and listen to your heart. I want to know about your struggles and your dreams. I want to know about your doubts and the things that feel so achingly out of reach.

When you’re ready, I would love to tell you about the faithfulness of God and how he’s ready and willing to meet you right in the middle of all the things.

That’s what I do here. Through my monthly newsletter, daily Instagram encouragement, heartfelt speaking, and thoughtful blog posts, I help women grow deep faith roots in the truth of WHO God is and WHY He matters to us.

Meet my Family

Darrell and I have been married for 38 years. The good definitely outweighs the hard. We are daily learning to love each other well. It’s such a comfort to know God is in the business of teaching us how to love others!

Favorite family facts: we’ve got 3 grown kids, and 3 adorable grands. I’m thankful for the joys and even the struggles of the mom years. The Lord was teaching me so much – sometimes the same lesson over and over! But now, with adult kids, I get to learn (and relearn) from them.

And grandkids? It’s like loving your kids as littles all over again!

My Yellow Boots = My Listening & Learning Tool

My garden is the place where I hear from God and invite Him to cultivate the soil of my life. In my yellow boots, I remember that God is not afraid of the muddy, mucky, yucky places in my heart or life. Rather, He is the Master Gardener. The One who lovingly pulls up the weeds, prunes away dead branches, and provides the nourishment I need to flourish.

My yellow boots also remind me of my mom. 💛

My mom was an avid gardener, a constant source of wisdom, a beautiful example of hospitality, and a woman of abiding faith. It is her influence that draws me to the garden.

I smile thinking about how much my mom would like my yellow boots. As soon as I clip a fragrant rose I am reminded of God’s rhythm for the seasons and that He knows what is happening in the soil of my soul. And He loves me enough to grow me into His likeness.
